Mellon Tuning VIII with basic bolt ons

I was street tuned by Chris yesterday and I have to say that the results are very favorable. I already posted a review in the review section so please refer to that for the experience. Here's a list of my go fast modifications:

BR 3" tbe w/hfc and Magnaflow exhaust
BR cone filter
Forge UNOS mbc
Walbro 255lph fuel pump
PPI licp
ETS uicp
ETS air intake pipe
ETS 3.5" intercooler
GSC S1 cams
APS bov (not really a go-fast part, but a supporting mod)

Now on to the dynograph:

That's 334 awhp and 300 ft/lb. That's not too shabby for a 2005 GSR daily driver with SSL. Of course it's no Chris 700 awhp monster.

How much boost? 93 Octane? I am considering the S1 but still thinking if I should go Kelford 272?

I forgot that part. My bad. This was on 93 octane and ~24psi. If you are looking for an exceptional daily driveable cam with very noticeable gains at the middle to upper rpms then I would suggest the S1s.

good stuff Dan, thanks for allowing me to work on your sweet EVO

It should be mentioned that while peak power is important we made sure to leave some cushion for the upcoming HOT weather that will be upon us soon. I've also asked Dan to send me a fresh log once that weather hits to make sure the tune doesn't drift (It shouldn't). He may be doing some HPDE events in the near future and we want the car to be very reliable.

I dug up an old DLL from 2007 when Dan first came to me to be tuned, amazing what some simple bolt ons and a nice tune can do.

Dan putting on the ETS intake I got him while he wasn't looking

Thanks for the pictures Chris. Pay no attention to the dirty *** car people. It doesn't normally look that bad. You are very ninjaish (is that even a word, oh well, it is now) with that camera Chris. Notice the gloves, they are a necessity when working on a hot engine. I also spy your 700awhp beast in the garage. I'll hit you up with a new log when the weather heats up. That's a nice thing about Chris. He'll continue to work on your car even after a significant amount of time has passed. Mad props to you.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
That's what I'm talking about. There's no need to worry about burns with that on. Hurry up and get your clutch taken care of so I can make that trip. We should probably do it on a weekend though so we don't have to worry about the Brentwood employees calling the cops on us.

the S1's are a very nice cam, great for a street car in every respect. Something like the GSC S2 or Kelford 272 are going to give you more power everywhere and they will lope pretty strong, but with some slick tuning you wont' have any stalling problems etc...

Thank you zeus1 and BEISSEN. The hard work and credit goes to Mellon. I'm just the simpleton behind the wheel hitting the gas when Chris tells me to.

Been there, done that. I guess we're all simpletons in that respect. So easy a caveman can do it.
