Personally if you ask me, you should ban all dynos without eddy current brake options.

For the sake of this thread, the rules state that a dynosheet is required to post here. If I way to make a suggestion to you Chris, it would be to get with a local dyno and work out a deal or consider investing in a real dynamometer tool to provide conclusive results to your clients.

I agree, especially when it's a dyno that can be manipulated just as much as a DLL power reading. They are all tools and it's up to the user to be able to use them to extract the safest power possible.

the closest dyno is 6 hours away Scott or I'd be all over it, believe me. I don't need a dyno to tune an EVO so I'll pocket the 100k or so required to purchase one and keep doing what I'm doing for now.

true story, my car never has seen a dyno, likely never will and to anyone that wants to dismiss it because I don't have a dyno chart, I say to them line up

This thread sames a bit aimed towards mellon tuning. Even if he uses DLL doesnt he produce results using said inferior tool?

I'm glad that I am not the only one finding this odd. To me, using a piece of software as a dyno is akin to using G-Tech to quote quarter mile times. Yes, they can be configured to be pretty accurate, but it just isn't the same. This is especially true when the numbers will inevitably be used to compare with other cars/setups (just like quarter mile times are).

There are a number of DLL sheets listed in the forum.

Chris, you are welcome to come on down and tune on our dyno.

the best way to tune is put your grandma in the car and let her tell you the difference. ditch the dyno and DLL and anyother excel program that only takes in RPM and time as data to get HP. LOL.
The fact is nobody in this evolutionm.net forum has the tool to 100% accurately measure increase in power and torque. Only the manufactuere does, 1 for example is having inside pressure cyclinder instruments. a dyno is a very good tool neverless to use out of any of the others. and an Excel spreedsheet is well WORTHLESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like the dll.. Gives a good baseline idea of what I got. 1320 is where it's at

Agree 100%.

Thats a bunch of crap Scott. Dyno a car at your facility then dyno the car on the same damn dyno at Buschurs. I can almost guarantee very different results.

I put as much faith in DLL giving an accurate power number as your dyno.

It's just a tool for measuring gains thats all it is and it does it's job PERIOD
