congrats. too bad about the E85 though, i'm lucky enough to have a station nearby. BBK + some form of alcohol in the fuel is a big winner (check GST_Motorsports for some awesome results from back in winter).

I've been following your threads to try and get a feel for what my dyno numbers would be since we don't have any in Alaska.
Tuning made a big difference here, the car left with 25-30whp more than it rolled on with.

That was a well detailed post!!!
Info = king when it comes to setups and details make it all happen. Stupid posts saying '450whp on stock IX turbo bishes!' with nothing else are why this section exists, so people can see legit dyno numbers and the setups to go along with them.

Bryan is prolly who pushed me over the edge on getting a BBK over an FP Red and I'm super glad I did. Again, with the detail he provided along with his posts, I really found the right turbo for me, and I still think its a better turbo for 4/5 people. Some want peak whp numbers, some want a little more bottom end. I have yet to see a local FP Red on pump gas, that will be interesting.

I think its only rated at like 48 lbs/min but I have proven here that it can produce FP Red-level power with the right combo.

i love the bbk but i feel like the bbk does need pump or e85 to keep up with a well tuned red even on pump gas. just my thoughts from the graphs i have seen. +1 on bbk power!!!

I dont think this is true..

the red's we have had on our dyno usually make similar or slightly higher peak WHP than the BBK, at similar boost, but less wtq and slower spool....

turn the wick up on a red though and throw some hot fuel at it, and its pretty awesome.

-------------------------

glad you guys like the BBK... it has shown flow of about 50lbs min through logging software, unfortunately we dont have a test cell to actually measure it in

Ya I have several friends with the red now and it seems like getting it to hold boost and running high octane fuel is what is needed to make it shine up top.

I put together these ROUGH overlays from August 2008 to June 2009 on my car.

Pump gas:

Alky:

Major changes:
-Basic port job on IX turbo to full port job on CBRD BBK Full
-stock head to MAP stg3 ported head
-HKS 280 cams on stock springs to Kelford 272 cams on GSC 5039 beehive springs
-500cc of denatured alcohol (49% meth, 49%ethanol) to 950cc of 50/50 meth/water
-Buschur Deluxe FMIC to Buschur Race FMIC w/ custom LICP
-NOTE: on IX turbo I had boost onset slightly delayed because of some freaknasty compressor surge I had on spool-up. I'm not doing this on the BBK. The IX turbo could def spool ~350rpm sooner on the same setup on my car. On some IX's tuners have been able to get the BBK to spool identical to the IX turbo...with my caviots, I have basically achieved this, but with a huge asterisk.

On alky, the car is up like 100whp @ 7400rpm, just freaknasty! on pump, its up 80whp @ 7400rpm.

IMHO the bbk. It seems like the BBK and Red seem to produce nearly identical peak whp numbers, but from what I've seen between some friends with reds and me is that even though we spool up nearly identically, the BBK makes torque much earlier, this is on high boost though, not pump. From what I've seen on other people's posts, the red will produce slightly higher peak whp numbers but when you look at the entire curve the BBK would be the one to pick. When I see a local FP Red on pump gas I will definitley be comparing it with mine
