Working on my race Evo on the dyno

I am getting ready for the DSM Shootout in Ohio next weekend - trying to dial in my HTA88 Forced Performance turbo and Buschur short block

This was todays best run with .82 T4 bck housing

Nice and smooth broad power band and spools up well

Going to swap back housings and dyno again tomorrow - shooting for 800 whp

I have been working today to change the turbine housing and discovered that one of the bolts which attach the back housing to the center had backed out and fallen off. Althoughits a direct passage to the inside of the turbine housing I am not sure if that one leak would explain all the power I am missing. Later I will go back and finish the job and get it back on the dyno. Al

Well its been a long week of hard work and testing, wrenching and tuning. I am glad that I was able to get back the power i had before. It seems that many of the changes I made in the off season were steps backwards. This is where careful testing and keeping an open mind are important to veify what works and what does not work.

Tonight I had the car back on the dyno after changing the turbine housing back to the .68 T4 back housing and you can see that right off the bat with the same tune I picked up nice power in the low to mid range - with a bit of tuning I picked up even more power all through the power band

Thats all the time I can spend for Shootout prep this year - we'll see if I can crack a 9.6 - 9.7 with this Gt37 sized turbo and access the situation after this race.

Are you sure you aren't getting thread pull from retorquing them too many times? How many times had you had the set retorqued that failed on you? You can also request a better rod cap bolt than the normally supplied ARP.

The set that failed on me broke in half at the top end of 4th gear

I thought it was a fluke until I learned of the same thing that happend to several others I know

I have never had a ARP rod bolt fail

Keep in mind I have a full ONE YEAR on these rods and feel they dont owe me anything. I just want them to get through one more race and then its time to toss them.
