New map for cams?

Hey just I know this is a newbie question but Im a newbie and need to know. Im getting some kelford 272s, with supertech springs and retainers installed and I heard that I would need a new map just to start the car, is that true?

No, you wont need a map to start the car, but you need a retune asap to see the full dividends of your upgrade.

as stated above no new map should be needed to start the car, but you might want to keep easy on it until it gets tuned.
Some other stuff might be affected that might alter driveability.

also as Steve pointed out, this is in the wrong section.

I drove my car around for a day after cams were installed. We just bumped the idle up to 1000rpm to keep it running. Got it tuned the next day and I stayed out of boost until the tune.

Thanks guys for all your input. Sorry that this is the wrong section to ask my question, but you guys helped me out reguardless. Would it matter that Im driving it around for almost a month before I get her tuned?

P.S. I see 90% of you guys are from PA, I'm originally from Philly but living in hawaii. Familly is still there tho.

I would definitely not go a month with fresh cams and no tune. Your drivability is going to be absolutely horrible.
