Ported Manifold Dyno Comparison: Buschur vs MAP Rev2

This is a re-post, just to get the original data back up here. The original thread was deleted because of all the dirt kickers and whiners. If you don't have anything CONSTRUCTIVE to add, please just DON'T BOTHER POSTING.

This is a dyno test comparing the Buschur Ported and ceramic coated stock exhaust manifold and MAP's Rev2 ported stock exhaust manifold.

1) Testing was performed on a Dynojet dynamometer with SAE correction and a smoothing value of 5.
2) Testing was performed in one dyno session over a matter of just a few hours yielding consistent intake air temperatures and negating any environmental factors. The car remained strapped to they dyno while the manifolds were swapped.
3) No changes to the tune were made during testing yielding consistent boost, timing, and AFR's.
4) Standard Buschur and MAP exhaust manifolds were used for this testing, no changes were made and no additional work was performed.

Actual data from actual comparo runs presented above:

Note that my boost numbers are slightly higher than MAP's, since we used different map sensors, and mine was not zero'd out before the test.

Depending on the run, you'll see that the buschur port job nearly equal but slightly out-done by the more extreme MAP port job, but is consistently bested by the MAP manifold above 7000rpm. On average, gains in the midrange were around 4-5whp and up top they were on average 8whp.

Thanks for posting, Scheides. This is definitely valuable information on ported exhaust manifolds. I was present for this testing and I can assure everyone that Scheides and MAP did everything possible to keep the test as fair as even as possible.

Nice gains, looks like the exhaust manifold can be ported a bit more it seems. look like its spooling a bit quicker too with the REV2, can anyone confirm? I can't really see much with all the colors.

Any idea what a stock manifold would have made?

do you happen to have stock mani data on that car? if not, no biggie, i have seen the stock vs rev2/rev 3 data from map.

in any event, makes sense to get the map mani. thanks for posting the data!

Nice gains. On a more aggressive setup (ie: fp black) the gains would be even more!

Nice test man!

Am i reading it corectly on the excel graphs? It seems that the Map manifold spikes just a tiny bit higher and it runs just a tiny bit leaner. Would this be the reason for the increased power?

Since the tune remained unchanged for both manifolds, what the higher boost and leaner afrs mean? Deeper porting? Larger porting?

Is it possible to have average hp from both manifolds? In other words what's the average hp difference let's say from 2500rpm to 7500rpm?
