A local guy bought this car used. Me and the guy ran into each other one day and started talking. He told me all about his car, that it was tuned and made good numbers on the dyno . But then he mentioned that it didn’t throw back like he thought it would. I recommended that we should log it and see what was going on. The chart below is from those logs
When we saw this, the owner was disappointed. After looking over the car, we found an exhaust leak and a LOT of boost leaks. After a month of ordering & waiting for gaskets, waiting for the UICP to get re-weld to fix a leak at the BOV/DV outlet, etc, we finally got the car exhaust leak free and 99% boost leak free.
With the original tuned ROM still loaded, we went out to tune the car. Even after fixing the leaks, the new baseline numbers were still low. So I went to work on the laptop. The results are below.
BASELINE: Original tuned ROM @ 22.5psi
COMPARISON: Boosted Tuning Custom Road Tune @ 25psi
PEAK Gains - +51HP +53TQ
MAX Gains - +64HP +59TQ
