stock clutch,...and it did not flinch, that's sweet. I'm not that bold,... so I have decided to replace clutch before I go 400 plus just to be safe. Is that the original clutch or has it been replaced at some point before 72K?

Since injectors weren't listed I'm guessing it's stock. What size meth nozzle and what meth mixture was this on?

We use M12-M15.

100% M1 methanol only.

No, as far as I know its the original stock clutch. I bought the car with 18K on it, so unless the original owner put a new stock clutch in it(which I doubt because it was bone stock) the clutch has 72K on it.

If you don't launch the clutch and know how to drive stick well, they can last a long time.

It stood out to me b/c 72K (if it has not been replaced) with all that hp seems like a lot for a stock unit.

On a seperate note, I want to take my evo to the mid 400's, but it was recommended to me that I replace the clutch with a unit that was made to hold that type of hp. The reasoning I was given is that slippage at those hp levels could cause major engine damage. I got 20k on a stock unit, never launced hard, and never roasted it. Should I worry about going to mid 400's without an upgrade?

Clutch slippage does not cause engine damage. In fact its less hard on an engine.

he's prob thinking about exploding flywheels and the engine free-revving to some ungodly rpm.. which shouldnt happen if you have a rev limiter, which is electronically controlled on the car

thanks for the input...I thought their concern was slippage at full boost possibly causing damage while on their dyno. My rev limiter has been raised, but is intact of course. The hardest the car has ever been driven (rev wise) is on the dyno, as I take it rather easy on my ride and rarely shift any later than 5000 - 5500k.

Our dyno is the same as Reese Tuning in CA. Their HTA86 did 720whp on their shopcar and ours did 763 at higher boost.

They read exactly the same.
