CBRD tune and PPI goodness evo 8

Parts list: Perrin air filter, PPI turbo intake pipe, GFB bov (soon to be replaced since it leaks badly) BBK full turbo with ported hotside, PPI lower ICP, PPI full race FMIC, PPI upper IC pipe, PPI throttle body, PPI porting on stock intake manifold, FP4r cams, FIC 1050 injectors, PPI extreme ported/coated exhaust manifold, megan o2 housing, weapon r downpipe, 100 cell cat, Jun BL catback, PPI small battery kit, innovate a/f and oil pressure gauge, autometer dpss and boost gauge, act hdss clutch, walbro fuel pump, arp headstuds, and finally the most important part, a CBRD tune

Anyhow onto the important part: 366hp/322tq on the stingy CBRD dyno

Thank you to everyone involved, PPI and CBRD makes top of the line parts and I would check them first before anyone else.

It was great working with you Cody on your build. Now is the fun part when you can go out and enjoy the new power.

Thank you for the kind words,
Wayne

Looks like you have room for improvement if you can get boost to stay flatter. Do you attribute the 7 psi taper to the BOV?

the car was very knock prone as it had a small mix of sub par 92 in with the 93, hence the tapering of the AFR around areas that were knock prone

also, the mbc (if i recall) may have been connected to the comp outlet, instead of the manifold, but i am not 100% certain,

for the temps and humidity i was very happy with the results

cheers

glad you like it cody!

Yes the gas was unexpected. When you are at a rest stop on the turnpike with the gas light on and all they have is 92.... no real options lol. Honestly I am happy with the power level it made. I would rather make 30 less hp and not have to replace the block because it threw a rod or something else catastrophic. Next upgrades will be pistons, rods, head, and intake, and a second car!

From my experience power is not everything, torque plays a big part too. There needs to be balance. I've seen so many races, cars with huge power ended up losing. It also depends on the driver himself, what he is actually looking for.. I'm sure the TS is not going for any drag race, and going for daily driveability on the streets. This car has good power on the streets! My 2cents worth..

I wasn't worried about a peak HP number, how often do you see that driving on the street? I wanted good driveability. Had I had someone tune it with a dynojet, I probably would have broken 400hp. Chad has stated elsewhere a stock evo 8 makes around 200hp on his dyno, I picked up 166hp.... that to me is alot of power. Also remember this car has no mivec head.... with your set up evooo obviously you were going for peak power and a headache with that o2 dump. I odn't plan on drag racing but maybe once a year. I should be under 12 seconds which is fast enough for me.
