Post a picture of this"EVO VIII" turbo. If it is ball bearing, it's not a EVO turbo at all. Up until recently, the only ball bearing stock frame turbo has been a custom piece done by Owens Development out of the UK.

While you are at it, maybe snap a picture of the injectors. If they are stock, then I wouldn't believe much over 400 WHP even with 65 psi base pressure.

i bet you already love AWD.
Actually I drove this one, it would do a couple little things my mustang wouldn't, you know, like go around a corner, and stop, and the power wasn't bad either considering the turbo was putting so much oil out it would kill every mosquito for miles around. What really done me in was the price, a little over three years ago I gave $12,500. 31500mi now it has 33225, unlike the guy before me I think I'd sell my wife first. You were right about the dyno maps if using VD you need to look through the data make sure it doesn't go down in rpms than back up. if it does anywhere cut it right there. after I did that to all my loggs the best I could get was 404hp 406 tq I'm going to post it with the AFR's 'cause I seen someone said he was sure you could get much over 400hp even with elevated fuel pressure and uhhhhhh...he's right. Of course you all know. AWD!, by the way as soon as I get a reasonable day. that dip in power at 5000 will be gone

It looks like any other evo 8 turbo the reason I mentioned it was because it was just something I'd remembered from way back when I first bought the car and had the turbo done. I knew zip about evo's then. the odds are about 100,000 to one it is not, and they were just smoking me because they wanted more money /excuse for taking so long. My last post I put the best VD dyno graph I had with no rpm drops.( drops are prob missfires from being so lean, VD seems to read them and make the horsepower go up instead of down like a real dyno would). Put the Afr's in 404hp the next .02 sec rpm dropped(missfire from being lean 12.4 ^) On a real dyno hp prob would have fell like a stone.

Because most of the tracks close to me are, and I'll prob do most of my test and tune in the 1/8th. Tires? it sucks to be a newbie.

Billy has the quietest built motor I have ever seen....especially after 2 years of hammering on it. It wasnt until Jake's 2.4 that we had another one that was so quiet it uses 100% stock knock control.

the only pics I have off the car are the port work I done, I'll post those too, but not for awhile (don't want to give up any secrets just yet). Even though my first Dyno graphs were flawed, (thanks for letting me know tscompusa, made me go back and look through the data to see what caused it) as english racing says 380hp is about the max for stock injectors which I reckon is at stock fuel pressure. I can't keep my afr's below 12 @ 5600rpm, or about 4300rpm at max boost, that little turbo has alot left in it, I'm sure of it.

This thread is awesome lol I just had my car tuned on a dyno dynamics and made 317whp mind you this was his first Evo 8 he tuned.stock turbo, stock injectors, ams upper and lower icp,aps ic,aps bov,Megan 02,megan manifold,Megan tbe,hks 272 cams.94oct (not as good as USA 93) I'm sure I could make more power but I want to get a different turbo anyways.you can see the Evo 8 turbo fall on it's face in high rpms
