Is John Reed still leasing their dyno from them from time to time?

Good to see Jason still working on cool stuff.

Nice numbers!

Question 8.7 : 1 vs 10.5 : 1

What are some of you guys thoughts on this. How would higher compression (10.5 : 1) affect this motors power numbers.

i seen this shop before and this was really cool; http://www.flickr.com/photos/kyletomita/3763332236/

i dont think ive ever seen that in a performance shop before. they actually cut a real vipers front off to make it into part of a gaming console.

Because the front end was missing already

8.7 to 10.5:1 is almost pointless if you still have turbo left. Our drag car is the same from 9:1 to 11.3:1 as far as timing and boost (48psi). It seems to like the bottle better with lower compression though.

So, if you have turbo left you are saying that the lower compression can be made up for with higher boost and produce the same results?
Good to know about the the timing and boost being the same in that range of compression, not considering the effect of higher compression when using the bottle.

Also, would the higher compression move the curve to the left at all?

higher compression makes better power off boost and at partial throttle. at wot and under boost, its a wash.

^Higher compression also helps with turbo response.

Congrats on the results. That is a sick video, and one cool looking clean shop.
