Or use ECU-Boost with a 3-port, get the same, if not more control and save yourself $600

Actually I think the EVC6 works a lot better than any 3 port I have ever tuned. I have been using the HKS one and he Apexi one for a long time and the HKS is a lot better than the Apexi as far as user friendly. But your right on the money unless you buy it from someone like this guy did and only give 27 for it

Thanks buddy! We do want to get a set of updated S2's for it and some port work on the head and turn it up a little.

The HKS EVC uses a 3-port as well. In fact the EVC-S uses a MAC valve 3 port just like AEM/Grimmspeed/Apexi/Perrin/etc

Spec ops now? If you're going to be in Fayetteville this weekend I must insist on going for a ride in your car

Congrats Kasey, car looks like it would be a blast. Who's car is this?

It is Will's car! We are fixing some things on it right now and hopefully it will be better in about 2 or 3 weeks!

You really do not see this type of encouragement on the forums. Thanks, my brothers.

I do stand by ETS! They make some of the best products for the Evo in my personal experience.

Whats your take on big boost and using EBC's vs ECU Controlled boost vs MBC's? Seems there is so many different ways to go and theories on what works best and what certain tuners recommend and don't recommend.

This versatility is both amazing and confusing at the same time. In the Subaru world (I'm just becoming acquainted with) it seems its Cobb AP or ECUFlash (ECUTek not so much it seems as of late at least with the later model STi's).

When you say big boost, how much boost? The HKS EVC 6 only goes to 37psi so then it becomes a restriction. If you have a external wastegate, such as a Tial or HKS. Then I would go with a manual boost controller. But as far as stock turbo or a FP unit I would suggest either a 3 port or the HKS EVC 6. The 3 port and HKS are both RPM base and will help control the boost curve.

35 to 45 PSI. Externally gated setups mainly.

I didn't know the EVC VI had that limitation. I loved the functionality of it (Reminded me of the AVC-R.....which strangely enough I figured out on my own years ago) but it was so maddening to try and set that ****er up right.
