Sard Fuel Regulator whistling?
Sard Fuel Regulator whistling?
I'm driving an Evo IX.
Video recorded by ipad2
I've bought a New Original Sard Fuel Regulator Standard yesterday and install it on the day itself. After installation, the Sard FR is making some high pitch noise constantly at the pressure of 2bar and above during idle, the sound is like an airplane sound, similar to when the car has lack of earth and when the audio player is on, the similar sound can be heard through speaker. So we tested below 2bar, and the sound disappear. Again we set to 2bar, it appear. Even when driving, the sound constantly appear until 4000 rpm rev and above, it disappear, and return when below 4000 rpm. Is like hearing the fuel travelling sound, or i dunno?
I've tried unplug the vacuum hose on top of the FR, and the sound gone. But appear again when i plug it back. What could be the possible cause of this?
Not to say during starting my car, the weird sound sure appear, and i know this one is quite famous cause i've owned a Sard FR last time and it happened to be like this also, but not as often as this NEW one, which the sound 99% sure appear when starting.

If a torn diaphragm sounds exactly like it, then it should be...i have yet to heard a torn diaphragm sounds like...only heard the symptom of it like the FR unable to hold at set pressure, or fluctuate after boosting.
Today meet up with the dealer, and they also first time hear this noise. So they dunno what to do and replace me with another new one.
The body of the FR is new but the top nipple vacuum use back my previous one. After installation of the new FR, the sound remain the same. So, since the only thing that used back was the top nipple vacuum and hoses, we try to change the top nipple vacuum to the new one. And the whistling gone, but, a sound sounds like electric short circuit or fuel traveling sound appear.
And i supposed that AFR make that noise.
Has anyone really know if AFR make some noise, or totally quiet, or whatsoever sound?
I've tried to relocate the FR by not mounting it directly to chassis, and the sound cannot be hear from interior, but still of course appear at the engine bay. Since the sound of electric short circuit or fuel travelling sound seems better than the previous whistling sound, i supposed all the FR make that noise and so i relocate the FR so that it won't be heard inside my car...
