HKS 7460R compared to EF3 on Evo 8
Its lazy because there is no 3 port to help it spool a little bit quicker. But still, I think the main point is that the HKS spools nicely compared to a big turbo like the EF3.
A good street turbo will be a small upgrade from stock. You want more power then up top with a big turbo then you will sacrifice low end power and torque.
Also to the OP, looks like the tune could have better on either turbo. The power should not have been dying off at 5000 rpm.

Both of the turbo results look lousy, but I would bet money the wastegate has insufficient pre-load on the EF3 in addition to whatever else is going on with this car. The torque curve looks way off.
Wait so these results are from different cars... you didn't swap turbos on the same car? No Deal
no two evo's are alike bro. I've seen a bundle of same year, same model Evo's, with the exact same mod list to include the same turbo, do ENTIRELY different #'s on the dyno

It still gives you an idea.....i agree on the no same evo motor is alike. But it wont be CRAZY different. The turbo themselves are 2 totallt different turbos. HKS will out spool an ef3 all day and that would be on any evo. I was just stating in my op that i love the hks and response way more. I might sacrafice top end power. But like i said i dont drag race or do 1 mile pulls. Its awesome for what i do.
The Hks is good for 430 on 93.

It was the exact SAME setup. I litterally took the boltons to another car from the other car. This thread is really to show the nature of the turbos. I wasnt really all that worry about power.
I didn't mean to throw you under the bus fam... but that 4G63 can be somewhat of an ummmmmmmmmmmm enigma... nooooooo more of an enomoly at best. Too often we chase the carrot when the "new hotness big # turbo" hits the streets and often we'll compare mod lists that are virtually identical only to be dumbfounded as to how we came up short. Not trying to get
these are just my findings after a decade + of being an enthusiast. All in all, Impact vs. Intent, I do see what you were trying to do and I've got nothing but love for the GTII. For a stockish upgrade with better than stock spool, numbers and overall performance in TA and mini tracks I don't know that you could do too much better but again I have a biased opinion

i think he's getting a bit of heat cuz while u are right that there is quite some spread in what the same setup can do on the different 4g63 engines, these results are on the very low end of the spectrum. May not be fault of tuner or turbo but just the efficiency of the combination of parts on the car. ( or a combo of all of the above, who knows) no evo lover likes to see sub par numbers.
