Kinugawa 25G results

I've had this turbo on for about 8 1/2 months now and figured i'd show some results finally.
I bought the turbo for $800 shipped and really didn't expect much from it. I opted for the billet wastegate (which didn't work for sh*t) and the ported turbine housing.

The car is my 2006 WW Evo IX. She currently has 78K miles on the clock and has the following mods.

VRSF 3.5" FMIC
VRSF SR UICP
ETS LICP
Home made SD Intake
Kinugawa 25G, 10.5 hotside
Grimmspeed 3 port
MAP Tubular exhaust manifold
MAP external wastegate/02 housing
Perrin downpipe/testpipe
Tanabe cat back
Buschur 65mm ported throttle body
Buschur ported intake manifold
ARP head studs
GSC S2 cams
GSC no tick lifters
GSC 5041 springs/retainers
EGR delete
FIC 1250cc Injectors
walbro 450 pump
Tial 50mm Bov

Engine bay shot

The car was tuned on e85 and 32 psi. This netted an amazing 575 hp and 440 lbs of tq.
She is an absolute blast to drive and I can't believe how long this turbo has held up.

This was my pump gas tune

this is the e85 tune

quick little video made of the dyno tuning

Wow, you run a short tire. Nice results man. Very linear power.

I'm headed in the same direction

differences

11.5 hot side instead of 10.5
1450 cc injectors instead of 1250
mil spec 100 cell cat instead of test pipe
MAP short Runners exhaust mani
different BOV...

tom questions
any changes to the drive line?
clutch, etc....

everything else is the same....everything.

I'm guessing that your setup will be laggier than mine with that hotside. There is an upgraded clutch in my car and i am not sure which one it is. has a silver pressure plate. I'm guessing some sort of exedy upgrade. I actually ran out of fuel with the 1250's which is why we stopped tuning.

I'm not familiar with that clutch. You are still stick block correct?

Id say you'd need a clutch with a tq rating of at least 450-500.

Clutches usually aren't rated for horsepower.

This is the clutch I have on my EVO VIII, and I have the lighter flywheel. You can see it is rated for 510 tq if that helps.

i would be concerned with that tune. at 20psi+ its still 13.5-14 AFR. that will end up hurting the engine.

power @ 50 on that mustang is set wrong. it should be 15.1 not 13.3. that's why the mustang is reading so high.

on another note, your car has a nice stance to it. definitely fix the afr curve asap though, or you will damage your engine.

That was the pump gas tune with a failing fuel pump that you see with the crazy afr.

The car is ran on corn and was retuned. I just used their dyno. I trust what they've built out of there. Their numbers correspond pretty close with my vd run as well.

I'm not referring to the blue line. im referring to the others. they are all following the same curve, and i assure you swapping the pump wont alter the actual curve of the AFR at low rpm. it needs remapped at spool area. im just trying to help you by letting you know what i see that's all.

the horsepower at 50mph on the dyno i think lowering the number makes it read lower, so other things are changed on that dyno i guess if it matched the dynojet vd #.

log your afr and do a pull as is now you will be surprised im sure what you see after i pointed it out.
