Advice/Suggestions on my Results

Hey All,

I just posted this in EcuFlash, but thought it might do better here. Just wanted to toss this out for suggestions. Tunah has been super nice and has given me a lot of guidance and suggestions on my first tune. I know he's busy with his own car right now, so I wanted to bounce this off others.

03 Evo
10.5 hotside
Turbosmart 14psi actuator
Perrin Intake
ETS LICP
Grimmspeed 3-port
Supertech valves, fresh head.
Walbro 255
AEM Wideband

Stock exhaust and downpipe (new OEM cat).

So here's where I am:

This is where I can run very consistent without any knock.

Here's my map trace.

And full map.

Let me know what you think. I'm probably just getting greedy and wanting more out of a very stock car. Tunah has suggested that I'm just at the mercy of my exhaust. I tend to agree.

The car feels great, but that flat spot in the power from 4800-5800 is driving me crazy. I can't run any more boost or timing without getting knock.

Let me know what you think! I can post the log if necessary.

yeah man you have to get the air flowing and that stock exhaust is holding you back, but the numbers are really low. I haven't seen any dyno numbers from an evo with stock exhaust, ever

I think it's the exhaust, but then I see a thread like this:

I'm wondering if I should try to run less boost up top and more timing. May be something to play with.

Edit: So I pulled up some old logs and found that I was able to run more boost with the same timing in the past, with no knock. I'm going to play with it later and see what I can do.

More boost and less timing seems to be making power. I'll play with it for a couple days and report back.

Stock exhaust, O2, and BOV are most likely not helping. You need one of these. http://www.shopenglishracing.com/Evo...d-Cut-Out.html

The car seems to be about right given your mods. On 91 octane w/ similar mods as you, plus an exhaust, O2, and BOV my car put down 264hp on a Mustang dyno. Once those are taken care of the cams, injectors, and FMIC will follow.

Sorry, running a slightly crushed IX BOV.

I made a little progress after work today. I'll see how she does. I'm working on getting my catback. I just like to squeeze what I can out of things before I move on.
