35R dyno thread
i noticed that there was a thread dedicated to the REDs dynos, why not make one for 35s?
i have no dynos, i have the 35r, but its not on my car yet :'( (5 days {thumbup} ) anyways the only 35r cars i can find have built motors etc. and i wanna know what i might be close to, or if i put more mods on what ill be close too my current/arriving this week parts are in my sig. anyone running a set up like mine with dynos? ill post mine up as soon as i can! *note* i did not create this thread just to ask what i will be running, i created it to share all the 35r cars for those of us just starting out so we know what to look into doing |

actually reds the turbos cost the same almost. but with the 35r you need a new licp, exhaust mani, downpipe.. just about everything, whereas the RED is basicly a stocker with 35r packed into it.. bolts up to all your stock stuff. but the compressor housing is smaller.
spools alot faster which gives you a wider powerband, where the 35r is a very short powerband.. but the power is WICKEDD (so i hear) i think im right? correct me someone if im wrong |

From my searches, I see plenty of dynos of Reds making more power than 35Rs and also plenty of 35Rs making more power than Reds. From what I've seen, they appear to be in the same general geography in terms of performance potential - the individual mods per vehicle seem to make a really big difference. I do believe you are correct that the 35R will require more stuff like manifold, LICP, etc. The spool debate always rages, though. I've seen graphs of a 35R (twin scroll, of course) that look like they spool just as fast as a Red. And I've also seen graphs of a 35R taking forever to spool compared to a Red (usually a single scroll). For what it's worth, most of the 35R graphs I've seen appear to hold top end torque (and power) better than the Red. I would guess that this is due to a less restrictive turbine housing but I'm by no means an expert. Geoff @ FR did a test of the GT35R vs the BW S300SX 83-75 (both twin scroll, of course) and the BW is almost identical for about half the money. In fact, I think they picked up some mid-range torque and the transient response was reported to be better on the BW than the Garrett. |
GT3582R Buschur Racing Turbo Kit
Tuned at (DG Motors) with a standard off the shelf Buschur Racing Gt35r tubular header turbo kit with a .82 backside.
stock Intake Manifold stock Throttle body stock Head w/cosworth M2 cams and arp headstuds Buschur 4" race FMIC Buschur race IC pipes Alcohol Injection forge mbc Aem ems hks dli 2 w/ stock coils buschur intake 1200 cc injectors exedy tripple 3" exhaust basically full bolton standalone car w/ built bottom end. Car was tuned in 4th gear at 34psi pump/alky. Add 50whp to your nearest dynojet. http://img353.imageshack.us/img353/7367/dynonr3.png You can drastically see around after 6300rpm a built head/intake manifold would help. Either way, it's a 600hp car on pump/alky Here is the difference with a built head and intake manifold. its a 30r but still holds power out till 7000 rpm. Just for comparison purposes. Its funny, the 30r actually lags more than the 35r with bigger backside! This was done in 4th gear 22psi on pump gas. This is the break in tune on the new motor. http://img373.imageshack.us/img373/7008/cody009nj7.jpg |
Solid #s, man!
Are these things twin scroll? |
NO way. Just your standard 35r and 30r.

The other thread said he was running Cosworth M2s.

Just out of curiosity, why the emphasis on "NO?"

I got an interesting one for all. Mods for power are as follows:
- Peakboost GT3582R Turbo w/tubular manifold - Tial 44mm Wastegate (with spring for 11psi+) - PWR Intercooler - PWR Radiator - GSC 272 Cams - ARP Headstuds - 1000cc Injectors - AEM EMS - Custom IC Piping - Walbro Fuel Pump - Fidanza Cam Gears -HKS Boost Controller My car had 410whp 372wtq @ 22psi (93 octane) tuned by Buschur a few years back. Decided to add a few things: - AEM Meth kit running 100% meth -changed Tial springs for 20+psi -changed plugs out for a step colder than before and on a Dyno Dynamics dyno after intensive tunning today I come away with 399whp and unknown tq.......at 26psi? WTF is all I can say. Has anyone seen Dyno Dynamics run lower or have a massive correction factor? I showed the guys my original Dyno graph and they simply said "Oh yeah we should have mentioned that our dyno shows less than others". I was looking to upgrade to 1200-1600 cc injectors with dual pumps and e85 for 600+whp but if I cant break 400 on pump+meth something is seriously wrong here. Car runs out like a champ, so its really odd. |
