Spec-Ops Success ... GT35 Build

The graph will be the last post, so feel free to scroll down and look.

This weekend were able to throw our latest customer build on the dyno to get some pump gas and race gas numbers. I'd like to thank the guys at All Aspects in Virginia for allowing us to have a tune day at their location and taking care of us while using their facility. Great folks.

Let me give some background on the car and I will do my best to be brief.

Our customer and good friend dropped the car off with us to initially do a turbo swap to something with a little quicker spool and put on a build head. The car had a previously built bottom end by a shop in the north east. When pulling the stock head we were in for a surprise. 2 of the 4 pistons showed serious signs of detonation. 1 had a serious gouge down the side of the piston wall. Called the customer who was in Korea and explained what we found and let him know where we needed to go. After pulling the motor apart, we actually found 1 piston that had the remains of a previous set of piston rings that had apparently broken off and had never been removed before installing the pistons in his motor. Needless to say we gave him the Spec-Ops treatment and rebuilt everything.

Here are some before pics and piston shots...

And now for the after...

We degreased, sand blasted and recoated every rusty part in the engine bay... his car spent a lot of time in NY winters...

The car as it sits...

And the graph... The car performed very well. We were at the limit of the rods and didnt want to push the ARP studs too much. Would have felt better with L19s.

Mods:
Wiseco 1400HD 9.0/1 pistons
Eagle rods
Built Head
Magnus IM and Boomba TB
Kelford 272s
AMS GT35R Turbo w/.82 hotside (Older 35R turbo style)
PTE 1000cc inj
Buschur Double Pump
Hallman Pro MBC
Bushwacker Trans
ETS 3.5 inch front mount and IC piping
Spoolin Up COP
CBRD Radiator

Would like to thank the Buschur camp for getting us the things we needed so quickly. Emery at STM for getting the turbo kit to us in such great condition. Chris at No Limit for taking care of us with a lot of what we needed

The base pull is what we used to break the motor in, just not at the boost level obviously :) The pump gas is 93 oct and the racegas was 50/50 mix of 93 and Q16 and we maxed the dyno's map sensor, it was at 40psi. The car is also on SD.

This car was a great success and our first official build as Spec-Ops Motorsports with many to come. Jason did a great job tuning this beast and Josh did a great job building the 2.0 shortblock. All in all this car is a blast to drive and a big thanks to the customer for choosing us to build it. We have another build going on currently and will be sure to post results also when finished. Once again, thanks to Buschur, STM and NoLimit in getting us the parts needed for this build. Much appreciated {thumbup}

Great job. Congrats guys!

what did you use for boost control? thats one of the best power curves i've seen, with boost dead flat along the whole way. Well done!
