486whp/480tq ER LR2.4 and HKS7460
Keath brought us his built 2.0L IX with an HKS7460 for a retune as he had just been transferred to the local Army base here in WA. Unfortunately when we got to it the 2.0L had already cracked a ringland and busted up some rings. After diagnosing the issues, offering the solutions, Keath opted for one of our proven LR2.4s but wanted to keep everything else the same.
I will be revising this I am sure but the parts listed is fairly normal- LR2.4 Stock IX head Cosworth M2s Stock intake manifold SD Works O2 housing 3" TBE 3.8" ETS FMIC and piping BR double pumper EC controlled boost with unidentified 3 port Initially we were going to keep it on a MAF but it soon became apparent that it spooled WAY TOO FAST to let the MAF attempt to manage fueling. Since Keath was more worried about drivability we switched to an Omni 4 bar and our intake pipe kit. First pull saw 374 at only 16psi so I knew something cool was going to happen. When it started to spin on the rollers at 23psi and I needed to restrap and dyno in 4th I really knew this was going to be cool. The results- http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...Lim486-480.jpg The car comes into boost SO FAST that when you look at the time vs boost it goes from vacuum to 28psi in 0.7 seconds. It makes peak torque instantly and on the street it is definitely something else. The HKS7460 is definitely out of breath, the most we have seen is 490 previously, but in this combo it is really fun. Thanks for the write up Aaron.
yes the car has WORKS o2 housing. ETS garrett core 3.8. With BR 2.0 it make Peak TQ at 4100 RPM so it is safe to say that 2.4 made it spool 600rpm sooner. I will pickup the car tommorow and leave a review on ER and the car. BTW did i mention these guys made this happen in less than 3 weeks.. |
Fun city! thats got to be cool to drive. Congrats all around

Aaron, keith was based here on Fort Sill Oklahoma his evo has always been one of the greatest and cleanest evos out there. I am happy that he got the car with his power goals in mind. I am heading over to the Washington area as well here in the next 5 months and can't wait to see this beast in action. Congrats Keath!

hmm I like this. I was thinking the HKS would be too small for stroker. but seeing this has me green with envy.
what compression does engine have? this powerband in evo 8 comes close to the fun I am having with 2.3/green in the evo 1. |
