Help!

So i was installing my new deck and everything was going fine until I had the thing in and i tried to turn it on and didn't get any power. I took it out and checked all the wires and they were all connected well. I put the stock head unit back in to see if that got power and it didn't either! at this point i noticed that i lost power to my clock and my dome lights too! i got out of my car and tried to lock it and the power locks went out too! what the hell did i do?! the HVAC controls all still work and so does the cig lighter thing. did i short something? help me out if ya can! im hoping i wont have to go through the trouble of taking it into a shop. this sucks .

all your fuses have #'s on them & are different colors. check all the fuses in both locations that are between 10-25. that # is the amerage rating for those fuses. check under the hood (black box in front of battery) & check under the bottom corner of driver's side (by deadpedal) if fuses are all good, then u wired the deck wrong. remember the deck is grounded when u screw it back into the dash so the ground cable should NOT b used...

Odds are you blew the twin fuses under the hood. Pop your hood, take the cover off the fuse panel look for the 2 fuses that are joined together in a yellow fuse holder. Thats probably the fuse you blew ( well 1 of the 2 if not both) to check the fuse use a test light, connect the alligator clip to the negative termonal on the battery and touch the top of the fuse, if it lights up its good, if it doesnt you found the blown fuse.

Did you grond the new deck to the chassis? There is normally no ground wire on Mitsu radios they screw the radio to the dash that acts as the ground connection. See if there is a wire on the factory radio harness at the pin location of the black wire from the adapter harness.

Do what this guys says. The same thing happened to me. They are real hard to get out so it does take some work but they do come out. Even to get the yellow thing out is hard to do. Take your time and it will come out.

Here is what you should look for

There are two fuses in the yellow holder in the engine fuse box. Its a pain in the **** to get to them and see. My "symptoms" were no clock, radio, trip meter would reset, no power locks unless car was on and no door chimes/ dome light. Its a fuse.

My "symptoms" are exactly the same! where can I pick up a new fuse? Thanks for your input/help. I hope all I have to do is replace this fuse!

should be the fuses, there are a set on the left hand side and under your hood, all of the fuses should be labled. look for the ones that you are having problems with pull them (they even give you a special tool if you cant grab them with your fingers. go to like ace hardware or autozome or even best buy and circuit city carry these.

Good luck

Just get that yellow thing out pull both fuses out. You may get lucky and pull the blown the fuse the first time. Take the fuse down to auto zone or o reilly and tell them you need a fuse like this. Buy the fuse. Take it home pop it back in were you took it out from. Put the yellow thing back in the fuse box. Viola all will work.
