Components install

Before I go pulling off my doors, I got a question for you guys who've installed components already. Now is there a factory crossovers somewhere where i can replace with the aftermarket crossovers?
Or are they build into the head units?
Where should i tap for the new crossovers?

Also i got componets in the back too (becasue i got a great deal out of it). Should i just replace the back speakers with the woofer, or would it be a good idea to find a location for the tweeters that came with it too?

thanks guys

Stock crossovers are actually part of the stock amp, they are phisically non existent (sp?). When installing the front components you need to place the aftermarket crossovers somewhere in the door, or do like I did and install them under the driver seat. I did it that way because I was replacing the stock amp and all the speaker wiring was already routed to that place.

So where should the input wires to the crossover come from?

If you're using the stock headunit/amp speaker connections will come from the stock amp, however I think the signal will already pass a crossover. If you keep the HU and replace the amp, then you'll need an adapter to connect them, from there speaker connections will come from the aftermarket amp. If you replace the HU (and of course get rid of the stock amp) then you can do whatever you want, either use the speaker connections on the HU or go with an aftermarket amp.

Good luck.

Thanks, one more question? Where is the amp located? lol.

I don't have the SSL package so it wouldn't be under the seats (if im right)

I do have an aftermarker HU.

If you have the non-SSL package then there is no stock amp, the stock HU powers all speakers.

If you have an aftermarket HU then wire everything from the HU to the crossovers.
