Just installed one in my friends Mini. A nice unit with lots of features. Anything in particular you want to know?

I was just wondering if it was worth it to spend the extra $ to get a 3" screen. And if the functions are nice and easy to use. Thanks.

The display is nice and is the shiny black finish looks really good. It took a little bit to program everything, but it's straight forward and easy - just a time consuming. Once it's setup, it's easy to select tracks, stations, whatever.

For personally, the nice display is not worth the money, but that's just me. I'm not a big audiophile so I'd rather spend $$$ somewhere else. I do like that you can load a DVD up with MP3's and be good on music for a long time.

I hope that helps!

I've got the KD-AVX2 and I'd recommend it to anyone. The screen is 3.5 inches rather than the 3" on the AVX1. The screen is crytsal clear and worth the money imo. Loads of features on it and it is a great start if you plan on other tv's elsewhere in the car because it serves as your DVD player too. I also have my Sirius on it and LOVE it! You can ground the parking break wire so it can function DVDs while driving. For subwoofers you'll need to get a Y adapter which is like 3 bucks because it only has a sub input plug for the RCA instead of two but thats no biggie. If you want a serious head unit with loads of features tha are easy to understand.. get it

just got the AVX1 installed, and damn its kick ***!

sounds good with DTS dvd's, really kicks my a-hole, mmm other than that it kinda sucks if you always drive your car, its really not meant for the driver, just an entertainer for the passengars

a buddy of mine inspired me to get it, I didnt dig it at first but I kinda grew on to its lavish looks

ah and it looks okayyy, just the fact that the stereo protrudes a bit too much

I've had the AVX1 in for a couple months now. I love it. The screen quality is amazing and it really woke up my factory speakers. I mainly use the dvd player to play music videos rather than watch whole movies. My 3 main gripes are that you cant fast forward/rewind through mp3s, the HU restarts mp3s from the beginning of the song rather than where you last left off which sux when you're listening to long mixes and the skip buttons sometimes take up to a full second to register a button press. Other than that, its a great unit. If the AVX2 has fixed the bugs that the AVX1 has, id definately consider upgrading.

When installing this unit using stock speakers, can you use the wiring harness so you don't have to hack the stock wires? Also, do you just have to ground the parking wire in order to run the dvd while driving?

I have had one for a year and it came from my old truck and I put it in the evo and it is a huge p.o.s..... so I am getting rid of it and getting a flip out DVD.... SO if anyone want the sirius box let me know I will make you a good deal.
