What was said above. I read the installation instructions, if you are using the 6 disc changer you need just the harness. If you don't have the 6 disc changer you need the adapter and the harness it looks like.

Does anybody know if the standard headunit has connector for the 6 disc changer? I've never pulled my head unit out, so I've never looked

i bought the ipod adapter for my IX yesterday and had the dealer install it and it sucks a$$...

South Coast mitsubishi installed it and they dont even have a clue how to work it at all...it plays random music and you basically press the button that goes to the next artist and it will just play the music all out of order and your outa luck if you wanna find a specific artist off ur ipod...the instructions it came with dont explain much either

south coast mitsu said they would try to get more info on it and call me monday ...other wise they better be giving me a refund

i shouldve bought a alpine headunit because its 2x's cheaper than the oem ipod cable, and u can search for your music directly on the headunit and it will show the artist's name/song etc which kicks ***

Any links to the alpine unit and what about just using a rca hookup to the back of the stock unit? are there out puts on the back like on a vcr or dvd player ?

Is that the stock single disc headunit? I really can't see paying $158 for a cable where like was said above you can't search from your headunit. For ~$40 more you can get an alpine.

I was thinking about making an adapter to plug into the antenna jack, yes I would lose radio but I never listen to it anyway. Does anyone know if that antenna plug is the standard motorola plug(ie the one used on most car antenna's and cb radios)? I'm sure that would be cheaper if it's possible. The motorola plug was ~$4 and the stereo plug was about the same at radio shack.
