Ok so I started to install my ALPINE IVA-D310 I had in my old Tiburon and got all the wires fished through the carpet and under the seats and stuff. I got to the headunit and went to place it in the dash and realized there is a gap around the entire unit. Does anyone know if there is any way to get the trim to stay on besides gluing it to the dash trim? There has got to be a way. It doesn't seem like just cause you are using the mitsu brackets you aren't able to put that trim on. If anyone knows anything please let me know. Thanks...

 

Shim the back of the tabs on the mounting brackets with washers or something. This will make the HU stick out a tad more, but enough to simply "click" the trim into place. The problem with the din mounting bracket and the Alpine, is that the deck sits about a millimeter or two back too far to let the trim piece click into place once everything is in place. Mounting so the deck sticks out a tad more will work, and the result with the trim piece in place will look like it was made to fit that way (which it was hehe).
