Best Ipod interface

Guys,

First of all, a very happy Christmas to everybody.

Now to the point; I have been using my ipod rather a lot and frankly, the interface on my Alpine CDA9855 is useless.

Seeing it's Christmas and the Volk Re30 don't have centrecaps yet (long story) I'm thinking of getting a new head unit in my Subaru.

So, I'd like some opinions from you guys and gals out there with ipods attached to your cars. I don't have, nor do I plan to, add extrenal amplification so the sound quality from the head unit itself I'd prefer to be quite good.

We don't get sat. radio here (we're a bit backwards like that) so that's not important. The ipod is probably the only thing I'll play on it - my CD collection lives in the evo, the subie isn't fast enough to carry all that weight.

Navigation (ipod operations) I'd rate as very important also btw.

As ever, thoughts/opinions/piitb jokes/cavernous vag's very much welcome...

Hold on a tick, do those things have the slidy bar thing? That really DOES NOT work. Anyway, are they all 'full speed'? mine (9855) feels like 1/4 speed or something.
