advice on headunit please

ok for christmas i got a few gift certificates for best buy so i decided (since i already have a radar detector) that i was going to get myself a new head unit. all that i need from it is mp3 cd compatability, and ipod hookup. the guy at best buy said that the alpine CDA-9857 was the best buy for the money. i dont want to get a headunit that cost much more than 350 dollars so what are your opinions on the best bang for the buck head units? is this alpine unit good?

Alpine headunits are pretty good. I personally prefer Eclipse. I think they have a better sound quality. However, I don't think Best Buy sells them, so the Alpine would be a good alternative. I've had 3 Alpine headunits and was satisfied with each.
