Alarm question...
Hey. I just bought a 2003 Evo on the 20th and today was my first day driving it with insurance
anyways, I was wondering if it has a stock alarm on it?
I rolled the window down and locked it with my keyless entry, reached in and unlocked the door from the inside, and opened the door. Nothing happened. I know it comes with an anti-theft though, but where's the alarm?!
Anyways, thanks for your time

Like hang187 said, no alarm. It has an engine immobilizer, which means the key has a chip in it which is coded to the ECU. so even with a copy of the key the car will not start without the programmed chip. however, somehow people can bypass this by swapping the ecu or something. From what I read the most common alarm is the Viper 791XV. Another common brand is Compustar.

the car will start and run without a chipped or programmed key... for about 2 seconds before it shuts it off. that's our wonderful immobilizer system. and no, swapping ecu's will not bypass the immobilizer.
