Got one on order. It hasn't came in yet. Can't wait!

 

I got a chance to mess with one of these at Best Buy. It's aight, the iPod integration is pretty nice, but the lack of a cd player (seriously, what does a cd player cost to make today, about 20 bucks?) and the 2V preouts are kind of a turn off, and the lack of a decent EQ is absurd in a deck at this price level. Pretty soon Alpine will just be a featureless chunk of plastic with buttons and a name badge.

 

Yeah, being an older Alpine user, I remember their glory days. I get a little more disappointed with them every year. Seems that they lower the standard.

They should have kept a higher end line (kinda like Pioneer/Premier) and then they could still sell a few budget items. They actually kinda pulled that off with their speaker line, but I feel that the Audio player line has suffered.

I still remember when they were one of the first with 2-way and lcd remote car alarms.
