some alarms have either TACH sensing or VOLTAGE sensing. Make sure if your using the tach you have the right wire(this tells the alarm that your car is indeed actuallly running) You might be able to go into the alarm menu with the valet switch or a hand held programer. My only other guess is you have the immobilizer hooked up wrong and when then remote start is trying to start the car the factory immobilizer kicks in.

there is a shutdown diagnostic built into the alarm. I can damn near promise you it will say "low or no tach"... I set mine to voltage check, upped the crank time..never have problems..

you need a bypass kit from 12voltshop.com and just follow my previous threads on security forum about finding the tach wire.

You HAVE to find the correct tach wire or it will not start and you have to program the tach on all DEI remote starters this involves holding in the black valet button and starting the car, the parking lights will flash once tach is learned. But you need the correct tach wire first.

is this at the back of the dash gauges? for evo9 it is solid green with silver markings, for the evo8 it is green and white with silver markings(?) there are 2 connectors, try the right one(facing it).

tach would not matter if you turn the key to ignition and the car starts! trust me on this one, check to make sure your accessory and ignition off the remote starter are not backwards. even if you had not tach signal with a DEI product it would still crank over but it would grind or it would run for about 10 seconds and die. if it were the immobilizer you wouldn't need to turn the key, just putting it IN the ignition cylinder would allow it to start because it would see the key, much like what the bypass is simulating
