stock subwoofer

So I just got my evo this week and i've been reading around the forums here trying to see if anyone has mentioned anything about the stock sub's phase. I had an infinity system similar to this in my tiburon and the sub was wired out of phase and flipping two wires created a very noticeable difference in the amount of bass that the stock sub put out. so i guess i'm just wondering if anyone ever looked in to that with the stock sub.

I would imagine it is wired in phase (not 180*).

you would imagine they would be, but like i said with the tib it came out of phase from the factory, and there were multiple guys that did the rewire and it gave noticeable returns. i'm going to look into it when i get the time. i don't really wanna go nuts on a system, so if i would be able to get a little more kick out of the stock sub then i would be happy. i know that the stock sub in my tib was perfect after it was in phase. either way, i'll look into it and report back.

Since the stock sub is mounted flush against the trunk panels it would actually help switching the phase since it is a low powered sub. But more than likely it's wired in phase to push the air into the trunk, but obviously that is too big of a space for just 1 woofer

any one swap the stock sub for something a little bigger, but use the same stock amp?
