help sticking defi control unit

help sticking defi control unit

i am trying to attach the defi control unti under the radio relocate kit. i have a MR so mine came factory. i tried the double sided sticky tape but it doesnt stick, i also tried velcro(the best option as you can unstick it as needed) please post how you did this and with what brand of stick tape....i tried the 3m sticky tape and the tape that came with the unit...

i put mine in the glove compartment n used the tape it came with..

i used double sided foam "mounting" tape. Took me 3 strips across the entire unit. The supplied double sided tape didnt work for me either.

3m/scotch makes it. They have a heavy duty tape also if that still doesnt work for you.

Make sure you clean the plastic really well to get off all the armour all and other type of dirt and oils.

I used industrial strength Velcro (home depot). It's really important to clean the surfaces before sticking on the tape though (use alcohol or degrease).

yeah the heavy duty double sided scotch is good. i believe its in a green and white package. my control unit has been stuck for about 2 years now and didnt fall off yet.

sweet, i will have to go to home depot and pick some up. i was really tryin to use some type of velcro so you could remove it if needed easily.

... You mean to tell me all I have to do Is take out the gauges from the MR down below and my radio will slide right in? lol

Its gets hot as f*(Y) out in the eastbay cali during the summer, none of the tape would hold in the 120F interior temperatures here, so used hi-temp hot glue, HOT glue is awesome because it will hold onto PP plastic BUT when you want to remove it it breaks looks clean so no permanent damage is done.
