In Dash Touch Screen Computer

Here is an in car computer we have been working on. The monitor is touch screen and replaces the stock head unit. The actual computer is a small unit that looks like a car amp. Small enough to go under your seat. This is a full blown computer not a limited machine. You can use this computer as if you were at your house using a big desktop. The computer has a fast processor, large amount of memory and a big hard drive. The hard drive is serial ata for faster transfers. The computer includes wifi, bluetooth, satellite radio, navigation and lots more. We have chosen Windows XP for our operating system. With multimedia software called Streetdeck. StreetDeck enables you to navigate through applications with ease while you're driving. Streetdeck also has gesture support for eyes on the road use. Also, you can run stand alone type engine management programs such as AEM real time instead of caring around a big laptop. You can store thousands of songs and movies and have them at your finger tips. We have several different types of key boards to fit your personal preference and can be customized to your liking. We have wired the computer into the ignition so it starts and shuts down when you start and turn off your car. These computers start up really quick so you don’t have to wait 10 minutes to boot up. The base unit is $2000 installed with everything I listed above and more. If you're intrested in this, send me a message or post something in this thread. Here are some pictures of the computer in action in my white evo 8. Check them out!

I will get some pictures up of the StreetDeck when I can take some. Oh and I suck with a camera as you can see [lookout]

Nice. I like that Thermaltake screen, much nicer looking than the AutoPC I'm using. How much did that run you?

The size of the computer case is 10x8x2.6 , not very big as you can see.

I bought the Orbital Din Converter... do you have a monitor that goes with it? I was deciding on which one to buy... In Dash DvD / Navi (kenwood) or a mini PC. Looking at yours makes me want to get the PC, but 2000....dammmm. Im kind of interested; need to look up on it more. Can i get the link? unless thats the link in your Sig... and is it hard to hook up?
