had mine in the glovebox also. Its the easiest place to route the wire from the back of the headunit.

Thanks. I will likely make another one with a different CF weave in the future ... the 2x2 is kind of hard to work with.

I chose the center console because it's a little easier to get to than the glovebox. The original reason to add the CF plate was to mount the WBO2 connection and controls, so position was important. Since I control the iPod through the headunit, it's location isn't critical. The console is still a little easier to access for connecting the iPod though.

BTW, the console still closes on my setup, so it's just as out of site as the glovebox.

My car got broken into, he tried to get the deck out (he got caught and ran by someone) but didn't even see the ipod... Glovebox FTW. Now, I don't have a glove box, so it sits inside the front cubby, but you can't see it very well. And the Alpine iDA-X001 controls almost exactly like an iPod (well, a click wheel one, not like my ipod touch, but still)

I hate theives. They should bring back the old days where you chop off one hand if you get caught!

i think i'll have to relocate my ipod to the glove box. i had my ipod video hanging in between the glove box and the ac controls with a bracket i bought from best buy. now that i have the ipod touch i think more theives will be interested in breaking in. i needa install my viper 791xv alarm.
