Annoying Interior Light Behavior
How can I disable the interior lights from automatically coming on when:
1) The key is removed from the ignition?
2) When the doors are unlocked using the keyless entry?
I only want interior lights when:
a) A door is open
b) I switch them on via the map light switches on the roof.
The car is stock and the manual says you have to take the car to a dealer to have this done.

All I know is I have no interior lights on my car except the actual key slot. On the light on the interior roof, you have three options... (Not the lights by the rear-view mirror.) 1. ON - always on 2. Door - only on when doors open and 3. Off - always off.
What you're wanting to do is something electrically complicated. If you don't have much experience with it, you might want to take it to the dealer if they're good.
The easiest approach is to just turn them all off. When you need an interior light, hit the maplight. That's what I do.

I'll see what the dealer says the next time I go in.
