DvD player turns off and on when it wants to? fuse? ground?

My dvd player turns on sometimes when I start the car and sometimes it doesn't. I have a mini battery that I just replaced if that matters at all. I also noticed the dvd player had the red dot light up when it was on and if my memory serves me right, it isn't suppose to be.
well any ideas would be great before I start checking.

Is this a brand new unit? Sounds like it might be defective, OR it might not be able to pull enough amperage to power it... I've seen that cause similar problems before.

good luck.

No its not new. I have a mini battery + its freezing outside so I think that might cause it to not give enough amps to the dvd player.

So how would i be able to give it more amps?

check the connection of your "rem" wire (or ignition wire) whatever you use to turn it on or off with the key.

Generally any electronic device that is made for car use has a protect mode that is easilly triggered by an unnormal pull in voltage or slight spike in voltage. If infact you have a small battery that is usually the most common problem for anyone running something other then a regular head unit. If you have an indash dvd player it still does run off of 12volts but it is mor likely to put itself into a protect mode when voltage runs any less then 11.50 so let me know who makes this unit and if you can take a Multi meter and read the constant(yellow) wire and let me know what your voltage reads. If the car is being driven and still just doesnt power up then a big thing in a mitsubishi is a good ground and all re check the connection of the Swith(red) and Constant(yellow)

It has to be the Batt. since in only happens on start up. The DVD is pulling to many amps and Batt. it giving them to the starter. And like someone stated before it will trigger that redlight. Was it doing this with your old Batt.?

I bought the car like this. It's a Kenwood. So far it hasn't powered back up ever since it died then powered up then died again. Like stated above it will do this during start up; if it powers up it will work for a couple days then it shuts off another day. I will check the wires and ground and such.
