are refurbished alarms ok

i'v been looking on ebay for viper alarms ( 791xv to b exact ) and came acroos a bunch of refurbished ones from the factory. what are your expert opinions on refurbished alarms? are they pretty much safe to use? some guy had like 30 refurbished vipers on ebay, makes me wonder why so many and if that means anything about the company.

shops pull replace systems for customers with new ones if they are having problems, then the shop sends the bad one back to DEI who sned sthem a brand new one (assuming it is under warrenty) so DEI has all of these bad systems that they refurbish and dsitribbute to "B" stick companies.
Just make sure it has some kind of warrenty and you should be fine.

Refurbished for basic electronics is a straight shoot, I would do it if the price is right. However something like a wideband or lcd-headunit, I wouldnt take the chance.
