HID Conversion Non SSS IX

I have searched and didnt find what i was looking for. I would like to know since the SSS package has HID projectors and the standard is halogen, is the same porjector used for both halogen and HID? Basically if i put a 4300K HID conversion kit that will change my halogen bulb to an HID bulb thats plug and play will i have the same outcome as the OEM HID and projector that come with the SSS package.(colorband, sharp angle, etc) Ive seen pics and it looks like there is a nice colorband if you just put bulbs in, i want the performance of the lighting as well as the look.

yeah you can put a plug and play hid conversion kit into the headlights but they wont be exactly the same being that ssl package has hid projectors while a base gsr has halogen projectors but most people wont even noticed the difference... so basically yes you can do it but a plus of the ssl package are that the headlights come with foglights and base gsr do not

I put the HID Expert 4300k HIDs on my car last night. Huge difference over the stock halogens. After owning an S2000 and becoming a proud owner of an IX GSR, I found the stock lighting was absolutely terrible.

These are my lights after the installation. The cutoff is nice and defined, but there are definite hot spots and uneven distribution, but again, despite the lackluster OEM projectors, the improvement over stock outweighs the lows of the OEM parts.

thats amazing actually. Its a straight line.

Its incredible to see a single line like that instead of a right biased cutoff like most USDM projectors. (Or left biased cutoff like JDM projectors).
