Where to tap power for Defi Gauge and AEM Wideband

I believe I'm not tapping a good enough area for the power source for both of these gauges. Right now both are coming through the fusebox with an Add-a fuse deal that I bought from Autozone. Is there anywhere else that would be better for both of these gauges to be tapped? Occasionally the gauges will just stop working and randomly come back on.

Any suggestions?

Man that requires so much extra work, is there any easier way? What color wire is it at the cig lighter? It can withstand 2 different objects?

Thanks Wicked, once again.

Its in the cubby hole beneath the HVAC controls. I have a feeling the wires won't be long enough. Should I just add extra primary wire and extend them or would that cause voltage/power drop?

Extend them of course... all it is is 12 volts and then ground to a bolt touching the metal frame behind the radio... Done...

Cool, I just didn't want there to be a voltage drop and effect the performance.

I am having an odd problem wiht my Defi Gauge, the warning function keeps reseting each time I turn the car off. I set 24psi and then it goes back to 15psi each time I turn the car off/on

Damn it that sucks. Let me know if you ever figure it out Wicked. Hopefully someone else may run into this and offer some help.

By the way, what are the orange and white wires for on the Defi harness? I've tapped them to the brown cig lighter wire already. (sorry its been over a year since I had last done this) should I still add the 2 other power wires to the cig lighter?

Nevermind, I got it. Do you think it will matter if there are 4 different wires tapped at the Cig lighter?

Huse 4A Red : Battery (To 12V battery wire)

Orange : IGN (To 12V wire when ignition on)

White : Illumination (To 12V wire when small lamp is on)

Black : GND (To ground, negative battery terminal)

You really should be fine running of the cigarette lighter I have my Valentine One hardwired off of the cigarette lighter and I always will be charging a cell phone as well. No performance issues with either device.

I just tapped into the rear of the radio harness cause i have my control unit in the cubby as well. All necessary wires are there and there are about 6 different grounding points near there as well. Just get a probe to see which wire does what. This is what I think it is off the top of my head.

Red - Red w Black stripe
Orange - Blue w yellow stripe (or vise versa)
White - Green w white stripe
Black - Any ground
