Double Dins

i searched and got little information that im looking for. i was wondering which 2 din units are the best out there? i noticed alot of evo owners run the avic models but i read on amazon reviews that while driving the screen goes into a security mode and you cant use almost all the controls. has anyone not connected the wire to the parking brake to see if it doesnt do this? im trying to see what else is out there. ive read about alot of the systems for the past week but want to get some personal insight to other units. im not audio savvy and money is no issue

thanks in advance
