It was close to $62. Shipping from Japan cost almost as much as the part, but still a great deal IMO.

The brackets for your headunit should come with it, but this bezel does not need any other hardware to fit into USDM instrument panel.

Any clue on where to find the hvac bezel? I have the orbital kit but for some reason my hvac bezel warped and has a small gap now. Not really sure how to fix it outside replacing it.

I don't own an Evo but I'll shed some light on this. I was in the same situation with most people here, missed out on the Orbital 1st gen kits. I was then able to get my hands on the JDM double din bezel. Only thing missing is to figure out the HVAC.

I searched relentlessly and found an alternative. Using a 2003 Mitsubishi Galant HVAC unit and a radio relocation kit from Mitsubishi you can combine that combo into the lower cubby hole. Link is here http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/show...tion-viii.html

All credit given to Evolution_VIII. Unfortunately I never attempted this project, I was able to get my hands on the Orbital V2 HVAC controls.

So for you guys with just the double din bezel, I suggest start searching for a HVAC from the 2003 Galant!

Cheers

I have an orbital kit now but prefer the look of the JDM bezel, needless to say I just ordered it now.

Done it. Been there. Was really freakin' hard. DO NOT recommend for novices with cars.

STILL don't have the indicator lights working yet. (damn 2 volt LED's instead of 12 volt lights).

Works good, and looks clean though.

Anyway we can get the actual dimensions of the opening? I realize it should be doubledin standard, but want something a bit more accurate as I am looking to install an actual screen instead of a radio. Thanks!

The dimensions of the opening are 7"x4 1/8" based on my tape measure so this is probably +/- a couple of 1/16's of an inch.

I will post some pictures of my finished product soon, but there are several examples on the forum currently that look almost identical to mine if you can't wait.
