XOVision XO1915BT headunit installation
Just wondering if anyone here has this unit and if you have any problems with it. Also did the overall installation go smooth? Will I need anything extra to install it besides the wiring harness? I am just trying to find out if I should expect any surprises before I decide to install it.
Thanks,
Thanks,
However, what is the best way to connect to e-brake? Or can I just bypass the e-brake and connect to GND instead which I'm hopping will play DVDs as you drive?? Not sure how this stuff works.
Thanks.
yah just connect the ebrake wire to the ground and itll play just fine, itll tell the radio the ebrake is always on. Just be careful driving like that cuz if ur in accident even not ur fault it can come bite u in the ***
Sounds easy enough, and thanks for the advice. I won't be driving and watching anything that's only if my fiance wants to watch while I drive. Not only that, I am putting the deck in the lower dash and it's the 3" screen. I just bought the unit for all other great features.

Hi everyone,
I just bought the DP301BL (Fry's renamed XO1915BT) and have a question. I am pretty sure my unit is missing parts. I know it is supposed to come with a RCA to headphone jack Y cable. That was missing, but I have plenty of those cables and don't really care. I am worried that other cables might be missing. The cable that plugs into the back of the unit has a connector that fits the unit and then on the other side is a black square connector. I thought that the unit would just have bare wires. So I either have to cut off this connector (which will probably void any warranty and keep me from being able to return the unit is something is wrong) or I have to find some connector that fits this plug and gives me bare wires so I can tie in the Toyota adapter.
What did everyone else do? Where can I find the DP/XO wiring harness adapter? I am going to drive back to Fry's later and see if they have it. The guy that helped me the other night was no help what-so-ever except to be sure to give me a paper with his name so he could get commission. He didn't ask me what kind of car or anything and I had to go back to him and ask what I needed to wire it into my wife's Toyota Corolla. He told me the Toyota adapter number and I found it but no one said anything about some adapter for the DP. Fry's is about 20 miles away so it kinda stinks that I have to keep driving back and forth.
Could someone on here please tell me how their unit came, and with what wires, so I can be sure I have a new & complete unit so x-mas goes off without problems.
Thank you,
Eric

I had the same problem. However, it’s not as bad as it looks. What I did was:
1. Bought the harness for Evo so one end connector fits to the connector harness in my car.
2. Cut off the black connector (one that doesn't fits) and cut off the connector (one that doesn't fits) on the additional harness that I bought.
3. Wire colors from the headunit and harness matched perfectly so that was easy. In case that colors don’t match, use the color specification that came with the harness and the headunit.
Suggestion: I soldered wires together and used shrink wrap for insulation. This is the proper way of connecting wires. However, twisting wires together and using electrical tape will work as well. Not something I would recommend because sometimes vibrations can cause wires to untwist resulting in malfunction of the device or worse, shorting out to something else.
