Gauges Pod Question1

Hello, I wasn;t sure where to post this message but feel free to move it if u think its in the wrong location.

So iam trying to find a gauge pod to put on my evo ix, which doesn;t even have a boost gauge yet and i ran into this shop with this type of pod

http://www.iaperformance.com/product...oducts_id=1418

let me know what u guys think? and if anyone has used it and if it does fit in with the interior, or does it look cheap. looking to hear all the neg/pos comments. all are appreciated. btw beside a boost gauge what's the second most important thing u would wanna monitor on ur car?

Thanks,

thats a common choice among evo owners. not my taste, but it puts your guages in clear view which is what is important.......if you arent building a show car.

there are many other options, just do a search

for your second guage, I would vote wideband 02

because u will eventually need it, if you plan on modding further. Its a safe tool to have.
Keeping you afr's in check is very important. Its like insurance for your engine.

I have my gauges below the air conditioning controls. I can see them perfectly. I have boost right now. But i will get wideband right after winter, and i don't know about the third one.

Wideband will be able to read your AFR and tell you if your running lean or rich, then you can tweak it a little to get it perfect.

From: somewhere testing various tires, brakes, and suspensions.
I had that pod and removed it after about 2 years of running with it. Happier without it.

If you track or AX or do a lot of trip driving - it blocks the gas gauge and anything above 120mph. The later doesn't mean much unless you are on the track. The gas part is what annoyed me the most. 3-4 sessions in an HPDE and I am almost out of gas. If you never can see it, are strapped into your seats - getting you head over to see the gauge is a PITA.

Boost and Wideband AFR are great. If you do not tune your own car - just boost. I ended up moving my boost gauge to the ashtray. I never mess with the boost - set it, forget it. If the car acts up - then start looking around and log it.
