Power wire through firewall?
What he said. There is a rubber grommet that you need to poke out behind the glove box to the right. If you look behind the passenger side strut tower you can also see the grommet through the engine bay.
I ran mine through the front of the drivers fender. Then into the wiring harness hole next to the drivers leg. Just had to cut a hole in the grommet. I wanted a cleaner install then running my power wire around the back of the engine and along the firewall
I would try to run some 4 awg wire anyway... Even if your system is not huge.
I always say the wire can't be TOO big, it can only be too small... Its not much more expensive and its easier to do it now then later...
Just a thought...
Whatever you do, just make sure to use a grommet or some kinda insulation.. You don't wanna find out the hard way, haha !!

yeah gimme a min to go take pics...ok....i would've used the firewall grommet had i known about it before i ran my wire but i found out afterwards...lol...i could still change it but no need really....the firewall grommet is behind the right front shock tower...the rubber grommet to the left of the screw thing in the first pic...way back in there......oh and i used the passenger side fender run...not the drivers...either will work the same way....you can get to the grommet under the fender well by jacking up the front tire and taking out the push pins and pulling back the inner wheel well....but it would just be easier to use the firewall grommet...you will have to put a hole in either grommet to run the wire......just be sure to use silicon to seal up the hole in the grommet around the wire when ur done to keep water out..i used black zip ties the hold the power wire to the plastic piece under the rubber strip...there are push pins holding the rubber strip in place but you can slide a zip tie through the same hole while the push pin is still in there...a small zip tie not the bigger ones...lol....oh and i found a good place to put the fuse at...i screwed it to the back of the plastic red piece that goes over the positve battery connection...just use short screws (the ones that came in my kit were short with blunt ends)...without a sharp tip if possible...so they don't poke into the wiring coming off of the battery.....cuz you will be sliding this on and off of the battery at some point....just use a small drill bit to make the holes(smaller than the screw diameter) then screw the fuse holder onto the red plastic piece....oh geez i keep forgetting things...i used an 8 guage wiring kit....a 4 guage or 0 guage prolly not gonna work fitting it under the rubber strip like i did...but the 8 guage fits fine...doesn't squash it when u close the hood...if you have any more questions just ask...i will try to help

I also ran mine throught the drivers side fender. I was running 2 ga and there was no good spots to run it at all. took apart the lining in wheel well and zip tied it to the existing wires inside there. Everything reassembled perfectly and it was nicely hidden.
It's still there on a 9. I ran 4 AWG through it. You'll probably want to take the glove box out first, and you may even have better luck locating it from inside the engine compartment. It's a pain to get to, but it's on the firewall and close to the passenger side fender.
