audio queston, Help wanted!

I am going to install my door component speakers tonight and had a couple of questions, how do I pull off the glove box door? I think this would make it a little easier to get the speaker wire through the door.

also what is the easiest way to get the speaker wire to the tweeters and to the door speakers???

any info is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

i would just use the stock wires...they are already hooked up to the tweeters but the glove box is easy to remove.....open it up all the way....slightly push it closed a bit and pull on the left side plastic stopper on the rubber part of it on the left side of the glovebox...the stopper will pop out....then press on the right side of the glovebox inwards and this will allow the right side stopper to go past the stopping point and the glovebox will fold all the way out....hope that makes sense

Where are you installing the crossovers? Are you powering them from the headunit for a seperate amp? Taking out the glove box won't help you get the wiring into the door. Pretty much the the only thing taking out the glove box will help you with is running wire across the dash.

Getting those wires through the rubber elbow is a pain in the AAAA, use a hanger, and tape your wires! It was not fun at all!

+1 on using stock wires...just cut into the factory harness if you plan to amp these speakers...

Hrm, so I'm in the same situation. I'm running 6.5" CDT Audio 160 watt rms components up front. I have a JL Audio g6600 amp that I ran speaker wire up to the front. I'm trying to figure out how to get the wire in the doors. Should I just use the factory wiring? The amp only goes up to 75 watts, so I'm wondering if the factory wiring is gonna be good enough to just power the mids of the components. I already have the crossover / tweeter wired up.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

FWIW I am only running 60 watts RMS to my door speakers and I upgraded the wires. I don't like cutting into the factory harness if I don't have to, and I wanted the 12 gauge wire. Use a wire hanger with electrical tape to attach the upgraded wire. Spray some WD40 on the hanger and wires (just a little) to help lube it through the hole. Good Luck.

Actually, that's what I did about an hour ago . I just didn't use the wd-40. I started from inside the door, cut a little slit in the rubber grommet, and it slid right through. It really only took like 15 minutes. So now i'm running 12 gauge everywhere!!! sweet!
