Linux CarPC
Very nice! How is the power consumption on that Atom? What kind of webcams are you using and how do you rate the quality? Do you record them or just have them setup for viewing? Appreciate any infoim trying to put together a similar project.
to answer previous questions:
www.jdmparts.com for the 2din bezel. the suede wrapped adapter plate was home made. had to be creative to mount it all to the bezel.
No webcams are involved, however im using av wide angle backup camer going directly to the monitor. this way i dont have to wait for the pc to boot to back my car out of driveway. recording could be a possibility if i use a webcam or capture device.
the atom has low power consumption. the m2atx handles it all nicely. if anyone is pondering copying my setup, you may want to consider a netbook with vga output like hp mini1000 or asus eepc. they are affordable and have similiar specs.

Have you considered integrating the computer with an Alarm system? I was thinking of setting something up so that if the alarm went of it would wake the computer and begin a recording process. My project is still in the conceptual stages. Thanks for the reply

- I bought an extra radio bezel from www.mitsubishiparts.net for about 30 bucks.
- Cut it down, using proper tools to get nice edges, to fit inside the radio relocation kit.
- Painted black so it blends in nicely with the black surround.
- Then I bought the climate stickers separate. Used a razor to square the edges.
