need a little help...

Ok here's my dilemma...

My radio and clock have no power...so i went and checked all my fuses...and the ones under the hood and found that one of the fuses were blown it was the one that has the little music symbol and is surrounded by a yellow holder type thing...so as soon as i replace it and turn my car on i smell smoke coming from the vents above the radio...and u can hear the speakers in the rear of the car crackling...and then the fuse blows and the smell of smoke is still present...any help possible...

Any wires in particular that i should look at first??? I look at the ones near where the smoke was coming from and saw no major issues...

Did you install an aftermarket receiver? Check the red, yellow power cables on your receiver. Make sure they don't short to chassis (black).

You have a power wire touching ground.

Actually, I bet your radio fried, or your power wire touched a speaker wire. Was your headunit on when this happened?

Unless you replaced the fuse with a significantly larger fuse. Shorting power and ground would blow the fuse before it burnt (the purpose of a fuse), plus you shouldn't have heard the speakers crackling.

im not sure if the radio still works...cuz as soon as i put a new fuse in and turn the car on...it begins to smoke behind one of the vents above the radio...then the fuse blows and thats it...
