Weird issue with stock radio

Okay so i have a weird issue on my stock radio on my evo 8. My radio wont play when the car is on. It sometimes does but it sounds like its shorted out. But here is the weird thing. It works fine when I put my car keys in and turn them to the on position. But as soon as I put the clutch in and turn the keys to the start position the radio has no sound.

Ideas?

Sounds like a short to me. Im the lazy type so Id just as soon take it to the local car customs shop and have them take a look, but I know that may not be an option.

I originally thought short also but why would it work fine in the on position as opposed to the start.

Hmm so it's only working in the acc position not the start position.

Again, that sounds to me like a short, otherwise it would seem to me that it would either work or not work, no middle ground if it wasnt a short but Im no expert, Im sure someone else has better advice.

I'm just trying to figure out if it's wiring or the headunit.

Fixed it. Lose wire in the back of the fuse block.

This is me right now. I just bought another oem headunit used to try and even after the swap I get the same exact issue so it's def electrical. I don't know what wiring to check...I jiggled everything I could lay my hands on. Any ideas?
