Hi,

Right now I have a Jensen VM9311. It has a 7" touchscreen and does DVDs, Ipod, MP3 CD, etc, pretty basic stuff. It works very well and I am very happy with it, but am considering moving up to something with bluetooth as a handsfree law is taking effect in 2010.

I have been scrolling through crutchfield and reading reviews, but I keep seeing people saying in the reviews "bluetooth is great" then "the bluetooth sucks" pretty much any feature one person compliments, another dislikes. I have a NON-SSL and my whole system is stock besides my current headunit.

I was curious if anyone could recommend anything?

I don't need NAV or DVD or a SCREEN

I do need;
-Bluetooth - preferably with voice dialing, auto sync with contact list, must work with iPhone
-USB iPod interface
-Good sound quality
-Good UI
-A decent looking unit

I would like but don't know if its possible;
-A unit with decent enough power to use some decent aftermarket speakers without an external amp (possibly some low end components?)
-Red display instead of all the ones with blue buttons (looks ricey in my car with all red)
-Ability to play music through the iPhones bluetooth (its a 3G, not a 3GS, not sure if this is possible)
-Something that sounds very good

Thats all I have really found that has caught my eye. Audio is not my thing, any help would be more than appreciated.

eclipse has the best sq. I like the way the Kenwood looks however I have never played with one. Eclipse is just basic looking but works well and sounds great. easier to use than an alpine.

I had that same alpine. The sound is awesome; your wont even recongize that you still have stock speakers anymore.

 

cush87 just curious, what type of headunit u using now?

 

For a single din, I think the Alpine is the best you can get right now, but I'm not 100% positive. If you wanted a double din, I'd HIGHLY recommend Kenwoods DNX series. I have the DNX8129 in my MazdaSpeed, and its amazing. I'd assume the new DNX9120 is better in every way.

 

I have been looking for a new headunit, and I like the JVC KD-AVX77. I would like to know if anyone has one and if so, how they feel about it.
