P0201 Injector fault
P0201 Injector fault
I have a 2003 evo 8 90,000 mile only mods at exaust and intake. I have a Bad Misfire #1 Cylinder. OBD2 reads P0201 #1 Injector fault. I changes injectors no joy. I read the #2 inector wire it read 14v the #1 reads 1-0v I change the ecu from My friends 03 evo and the car won't start with it ..... any Ideas what am I doing wrong? thanks

Take a look at the resistor pack mounted to the firewall. Its an rectangular box of aluminum about 4 inches tall and about 1.5 inches wide with a pack 5 wires coming out of the top. The top is open so you can see the 4 big, white resistors and there is a problem with the leads on the resistors rusting out right where the wire attaches to the resistor. You can try touching the leads on each of the four resistors (the 5th wire runs down between the resistors to the bottom of the pack) - if a lead wiggles, it's probably rusted out and not making contact anymore.
I had it happen on a friend's '03 and on my own. The piece is pretty easy to replace (two 10mm bolts and unplug the wire harness), but it's kinda pricey ($70-80?).

Hmmm? i'll have to try that. You dont think it's an injector that went out though? I just I have no idea until i start unplugging injectors to try and test to see which one makes a difference on my idle.
That's a possibility for yours, nick2shyy. But navysandsquid said he changed injectors already.
Either way, not a bad idea to at least inspect that resistor pack - only tool you might need to inspect it is a flashlight.
I've attached a pic from the service manual showing the assembly. The resistor pack is #2 in the pic.
