Getting a little more juice out of the stock sub with ssl??

I have a 2 12" box from my old car, ran the wires but dont want to throw it in now, its too big for my liking. I just want a little more bass to come out of that stock bastard. Is that possible with ssl? I dont want to mess too much with it, tired of messing with that stuff from my last cars

...not really, at least without additional distortion.

You do have one option. You can install another amp, one with an infrasonic (ie. subsonic) filter and roll-off the lows at ~45Hz with a steep slope. That will give you move volume to play with, less distortion, and much better definition.

You wont get barely anymore bass out of the stock Subs simply because of the box itself. Have you ever pulled that thing off to look at it?? Lol, its a joke. First of all its plastic, secondly there is literally no room for the sub to breathe to create bass. The sub itself is very sub low grade. Even with a separate power source, it will still sound like c r a p and distort. I know because I tried.

None of those factors, as described, are relevant to the issue.

No doubt. That's why it needs to be tuned, as mentioned earlier in the thread.
